Interlocking Bricks

Interlocking Brick Making

The hydraulic block making machines are versatile for on site and factory production. Blocks can be made with different shapes and sizes to suit construction requirements. Variety of raw materials are blended with sand & cement.

Masonry

This involves constructing walls that are largely dry stacked or using minimal mortar / slurry. The locking profile in blocks is due to tongue and groove that creates a mechanical bond and enhances structural stability due to shear key. They have an extremely appealing face-brick finish and provide a pre-pointed straight masonry. The walls may be left exposed, plastered or finished with cement paint.

Benefits of Interlocking Masonry

Minimal material cost

Minimal mortar is needed, because 75% of interlocking wall is dry-stacked or thin mortar slurry paste is used in the groove.

Reduced transportation cost

On site block production reduces transportation.

Fast Construction

An expert block layer team can lay up to 800 blocks per day; the equivalent of laying 2400 standard stock bricks per day. Virtually no post construction work is involved on wall masonry

Versatile Construction Technique

All window, door, slab and roofing systems that are used with conventional systems can also be used with Interlocking blocks.

Easy Construction

Dry stacked masonry is easy to learn and implement – even unskilled labours can be trained to do masonry.

Load bearing and framed structures

Interlocking Blocks can be made for high compressive strength for use in Load bearing structures. The strength and density can be varied to suit the technical specification for framed / multi storey Construction

HF220 Blocks

220

The HF220 block is the standard block and is suitable for external 9″ thick walls. The block shape is interlocking with beveled / champhered edges. Interlocking blocks can be used in dry masonry or with mortar slurry. First course (above DPC), lintel and top courses are mortar layered. It is recommended to consult the local building codes and structural engineer for suitable application.

Block dimensions (in mm) are:

Length: +- 120 – 240 mm
Width: 220 mm
Height: 115 mm

HF220 conduit block

HF220 conduit block is similar in dimension and application as HF 220 block above with additional provision for conduit for horizontal reinforcement applications in Earthquake resistant construction applications.

Block dimensions (in mm) are:

Length: +- 120 – 240 mm
Width: 220 mm
Height: 115 mm

It is recommended to consult the local building codes and structural engineer for suitable application

HF150 block

150-mm-2

HF150 block is suitable for external / partition 6″ thick walls. The block shape is interlocking with beveled / champhered edges. These blocks can be used with mortar slurry. First course (above DPC), lintel and top courses are full mortar layered. It is recommended to consult the local building codes and structural engineer for suitable application.

Block dimensions (in mm) are:

Length: +- 120 – 240 mm
Width: 150 mm
Height: 115 mm

In Fill, Partition Walls & Thinner Outer Walls

wall2

HF 150 Block has interlocks, allowing a mason to construct using minimal cement slurry between them. These blocks are used as an inexpensive alternative to walls build with standard 220mm blocks. The applications can be framed building walls – internal /external, boundary walls etc. Twin Bricks can be made from Interlocking Block making  machine using special mould. These bricks are practically double of standard brick with beveled / champhered edges for better aesthetics and handling. Twin brick is useful for internal / external wall applications and can be used on 115 mm as well as 150 mm wall thickness with additional advantage of saving the mortar due to twin brick.

Paver Blocks can be made from Interlocking Block making machine using special mould. Paver blocks of 115 mm thickness and appropriate cement and coarse sand for making drifts.

Setting Up Block Production Yards

Chepeo Construct Solution works to make eco-friendly interlocking blocks. These provides much needed alternative to brick / concrete blocks. Needless to say that they contribute in protecting environment from High Carbon generation and top soil erosion done by Brick kilns and conventional block yards.
